This Spring, Youth Homes Auxiliary selected St. Paul's Church as a new venue for the annual Fashion Show & Luncheon to attract more community-wide involvement. St. Paul's is central to Contra Costa County, and has easy freeway access and plenty of parking.
A long-term supporter of the annual Fashion Show & Luncheon, House of Fashion owner, Mary Jane Jossey, will present her store wares on local "models" including Youth Homes employees, friends of Youth Homes and Youth Homes Auxiliary members. Ms. Jossey has selected sport and formal wear, including designs by Torelli of Malibu, European sweaters, woolens from Scotland, Ribcoff from Canada, one-of-a-kind knits, Cyrus tops, Italian jeans and washable silk clothing for the show. House of Fashion is the oldest business in Alamo, CA, started in 1951 as a pioneer in hair goods, which continues to offers wigs for convenience, glamour or hair loss. In addition, House of Fashion sells hats, tie backs, turbans and accessories.
"The move of the Fashion Show & Luncheon to this new venue is exciting, and demonstrates the commitment by Youth Homes Auxiliary to include new members of our community," said Lorna Martyn, president of Youth Homes Auxiliary. "We look forward to meeting, and greeting, people who have previously never attended this annual event. We ask them to join us to celebrate the work we do for the children in the care of Youth Homes."
"The long-term, ongoing support of the Youth Homes Auxiliary never ceases to amaze me," said Stuart McCullough, Executive Director of Youth Homes. "Youth Homes would not be what it is today, without the hard work, dedication and interest in producing events like the Fashion Show & Luncheon by this group of volunteers. Those who participate in the Auxiliary events raise money to provide Youth Homes with support we otherwise would not receive."
The money raised by Youth Homes Auxiliary directly supports the high quality residential treatment programs for abused and neglected children and adolescents offered by Youth Homes.
