Lookout Software acquires Web 2.0 pioneer RSSCalendar

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) October 22, 2007 -- Lookout Software, LLC., a developer of Microsoft Outlook calendar sharing application for users without Exchange Server, OfficeCalendar; and a new AJAX time tracking solution for SME's, Office Timesheets; announced today that it has acquired RSSCalendar, an innovative online event and calendaring syndication solution. The acquisition is intended to strengthen the company's product portfolio by leveraging its knowledge of business-to-business group and shared calendaring, and Microsoft Outlook add-in development expertise.

Lookout Software has also acquired a provisional patent for RSS syndication of calendars as part of the acquisition of RSSCalendar in which it will be researching extensively over the coming months.

RSS Calendar offers a free online calendar syndication solution and currently has more than 25,000 registered users, hosts more than 1 million calendar events, and garners more than 2.7 million page views per month. While the product is currently designed for consumer markets, many event-centric businesses, educational institutions, religious organizations, etc. have requested a commercial offering of the product to manage and promote their events with interactive online calendars.

Lookout executives have discussed features like tight Microsoft Outlook integration; additional customizable event and calendar publishing formats; an updated multi-user and multi-calendar interface; Lookout Software's Schedule Fusion? group calendaring processes; integration with social networking websites; and much more as a development roadmap for the product.
