iPhotoMEASURE Offers Use of Photo Measuring Software to California Fire Victims
Los Angeles, Calif. (PRWEB) October 28, 2007 -- iPhotoMEASURE, makers of iPhotoMEASURE photo measuring software, has offered to provide the use of their innovative technology free to victims of the wildfires that have swept through California, according to company CEO and Founder Paul Minor.
"Our company is in the Los Angeles area, and we've seen firsthand the devastation that these fires have caused," Minor said. "Our hope is that iPhotoMEASURE will help those who have suffered in this tragedy on their way to starting over."
With iPhotoMEASURE it is possible to measure distances from a digital photograph of an area, home or room with accuracy. Anyone whose property has been damaged or destroyed, who needs to know the dimensions of their home's damage, needs to archive those data or file an insurance claim, can email a photo of to iPhotoMEASURE at photo@iphotomeasure.com. The company will then contact the homeowner with the measurements they require, at no cost.
The software works by taking the dimensions of a known element in the photograph -- such as a fireplace or a person -- and using that information to calculate the dimensions of other objects in the photo. Fire victims can also download a target from the iPhotoMEASURE website and use that target in all of their photos as a reference point.
This offer has also been extended to insurance company representatives who require area measurements on the properties they have insured. "Gathering this information at the site would be difficult or impossible under the present circumstances," Minor said. "But with iPhotoMEASURE the problem can be quickly solved, which will hopefully help victims receive a settlement sooner."
MEDIA NOTE: iPhotoMEASURE CEO Paul Minor is available for interviews. A free version of the iPhotoMEASURE software is available to media and press. For more information, please call: 949-916-9120
